Southeastern Manitoba Festival performers share their musical talents with the community

The Southeastern Manitoba Festival (SEMF) has been underway and busy since February 21.  

This week kicked off with Musical Theatre at the Evangelical Fellowship Church on Monday and Tuesday.  

Tami Schindler-Klassen was the coordinator for SEMF's musical theatre discipline. She notes that they have 68 entries this year, which is more than last year.   

ROC The Rink Hockey Tournament and fundraiser kicks off this weekend

It is a hockey-packed weekend across the province, and ROC (Recreation Opportunities for Children) Eastman is taking part in the action.  

ROC The Rink Corporate Hockey Tournament kicks off today, Saturday, March 11 and runs all weekend long at the Ste. Anne Arena. 

Steph MacLean, Development Coordinator and Family Recreation Practitioner at ROC Eastman, is excited to organize the event. 

Support continues to grow for young Morris boy's fundraiser

The generosity continues to flow in for a young boy from Morris facing health challenges. 

After experiencing grand mal seizures for two years, eleven-year-old Maddox Just and his family received news that he has a brain tumour. It is approximately the size of a walnut and is on the top left side of his brain.

Grunthal's Meal Program seeking community support

The goal of Grunthal's Meal Program is to provide meals for ageing people and help them stay in their homes. 

Over the past few years, the number of people receiving meals has declined.  

Carrie Bilawchuk’s role is to act as a liaison between the board and the meal program and ensure the program is operational. She says that there may be multiple factors that contribute to the fall in numbers.
