The Canadian citizen believed to be on an Air India flight that crashed shortly after takeoff is a dentist from Mississauga, Ont., her family has confirmed.

The husband of Nirali Sureshkumar Patel said she was on board the London-bound flight that crashed Thursday, killing at least 240 people.

Patel's dental clinic referred The Canadian Press to the husband, who said that he was in the process of booking travel to India for himself and the couple's one-year-old child.

June's Classroom of the Month took Nick and Terrence of the Country 104.9 crew to Luseland District School to hang out with Mrs. Starling and her Grade 3-4 class! The students enjoyed a pizza party with Panago pizza before enjoying the teachers' gifts, maybe more than Mrs. Starling herself! We ended the party by taking games outside for recess and enjoying some fresh air.

U.S. president Trump has attacked the sustainability movement, but a major pulse player urges investors to stick with the industry

A Canadian food industry executive is telling pulse companies to stick with their sustainability messaging despite attempts by powerful people to undermine the movement.

Murad Al-Katib, president of AGT Food and Ingredients, said U.S. president Donald Trump has been very vocal about his disdain for the green movement.

After multiple years off it's hard to forget the return of the Kindersley Trade Show and Exhibition in 2024, and now the event is back and better than ever in 2025 thanks to the local Chamber.

Back in July of 2023, Kindersley Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Kevin Martin teased plans to bring the show back in 2024, sharing that he hadn't been a part of one since joining the Chamber in 2019. The 2024 show marked a grand return, and with things now back on an annual basis hopefully wandering the exhibits won't feel as fresh as it did last year.

A chance to gather and show support for people affected by provincial wildfires, and those going to assist is taking place today in Kindersley.

It's the Saskatchewan Day of Caring radiothon for wildfire evacuees, and here in Kindersley the radio team is spearheading an opportunity for people to show their love and admiration for people going through the current hard times. 

The Government of Saskatchewan is providing an additional $500 in financial assistance to residents displaced by ongoing wildfires, Premier Scott Moe announced June 11.

The emergency funds will be issued to residents over the age of 18 who live in evacuated communities.

"Our government recognizes the impact of wildfires on these residents," Moe said. "These funds will help support families throughout these evacuations and as they return to their home communities."

The Prairie Pride Motel, located at the junction of Highway 21 and the Trans-Canada Highway, burned down on Tuesday night. 

Maple Creek Mayor Michelle McKenzie reports that the fire occurred late in the evening. No injuries have been reported from this incident. 

McKenzie applauded the hard work and response from the RM of Maple Creek Fire Department. 

MACKLIN, Sask. — RCMP in Macklin responded to a variety of calls for service between June 4 and June 9, including a semi collision that sent one person to hospital.

Emergency crews were called to the scene of a crash involving a semi near Macklin, where one individual sustained injuries and was transported to hospital in Saskatoon by EMS. The investigation remains ongoing.

Police also received a report of fuel theft from a local gas station. Officers contacted the individual involved, who later paid for the fuel. No charges were laid.

Protests during the upcoming G7 leaders summit in Kananaskis, Alta., may be starkly different than demonstrations happening this week against immigration crackdowns in the United States.

A University of Toronto research group that has been monitoring the meetings of world leaders since 1998 says its analysis shows Canadian protests are more peaceful and smaller.

But similar to the recent demonstrations in Los Angeles, they're likely to be against the policies of U.S. President Donald Trump.
