Seasonal drop-in services to open in Saskatoon for vulnerable populations
Two new seasonal drop-in centres will open in Saskatoon on June 15 to support individuals experiencing homelessness, including youth aged 16 and older.
The centres are part of a partnership between the Government of Saskatchewan, the Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) and the City of Saskatoon. One site will operate during the day for adults, while the other will provide overnight services for youth.

Buttar back on top of PBR Canada standings after London Classic win
Eatonia, Saskatchewan's own Dakota Buttar put on a good performance for bull riding fans out east this past weekend, winning the sold-out Canada Cup Series’ London Classic with a perfect showing.
Buttar went 3-3 in front of the sold-out crowd and took back the No. 1 rank in the PBR Canada standings in the process. He finished with 265 points on the night after a scores of 88.5, 87.5, and a final event total of 89 to take home 150 series points and $14,000 in winnings.
Rosetown Kinsmen competing for $25,000 grant — and they need your help
The Kinsmen Club of Rosetown is in the running for a grant that would go a long way towards continuing a community project in town.
The club is in the second phase of their All-Inclusive Playground Project and are seeking the $25,000 Communities at Play Grant from SandBox Mutual Insurance.
There are five winners, and with only one grant left to give out, Kin Club of Rosetown President Clark Gawryluik reached out to WestCentralOnline to help get a final push ahead of the final day of voting on June 23.
Firearms, noise, and welfare checks keep Luseland Police busy in May
The Luseland Police Service (LPS) responded to a wide range of incidents according to their May 2025 service report.
During the month, LPS received five bylaw complaints. These included one parking issue, one noise complaint, which resulted in a Town of Luseland bylaw ticket being issued, two reports of dogs at large, and one incident involving the unlawful discharge of a firearm or similar device within town limits.
Local rockers 'The Radiant' to headline arts fundraiser this weekend
KINDERSLEY, Sask. — The Kindersley and District Arts Council’s much-anticipated fundraiser concert at the Norman Ritchie Community Centre, is on for Saturday, June 13 at 7:30 p.m. The concert was originally set for April 5 but was postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.
The event, featuring Saskatoon-based rock band The Radiant and local singer-songwriter Curtis Ehresman, aims to raise funds and awareness to support the council’s efforts in bringing diverse arts programming to the community.
Repeat drug charges lead to Saskatoon sentencing for Kindersley woman
Kindersley Provincial Court held its regular sitting on June 10.
Amanda Watson appeared on charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking. Watson previously faced similar charges last year, after RCMP executed a search warrant at her residence, shared with her husband, Cameron Watson. At that time, police seized over 300 grams of cocaine and more than $31,000 in cash, where both she and Cameron were charged.
Rosetown Central High nails $10K DEWALT tool grant
ROSETOWN, Sask. – Rosetown Central High School has been selected as one of just six recipients nationwide to receive the 2025 DEWALT Tool Enhancement Package, a prestigious grant awarded by Skills/Compétences Canada, Skills Canada Saskatchewan and DEWALT.
The package, valued at approximately $10,000, includes high-quality tools briefly used during the Skills Canada National Competition. The tools will be used to support hands-on learning in trades and technology programs, strengthening Rosetown's long-standing commitment to skilled trades education.

Luseland police arrest Alberta man for impaired driving on Highway 31
LUSELAND, Sask. — An Alberta man is facing impaired driving charges following a swift response by the Luseland Police Service to reports of a dangerous driver on Highway 31.
Police say they received several calls around the early morning hours of May 27 about a vehicle driving erratically westbound from Kerrobert to Luseland. Officers intercepted the vehicle shortly after and arrested a 32-year-old male driver.
He has been charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
