It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Frank Gillen who went peacefully while surrounded by his caring family at the Kindersley Hospital.
B.C. port employers issue lockout notice in labour dispute with foremen union
Ports in British Columbia could potentially be paralyzed again starting next week, as the latest labour dispute has triggered a provincewide lockout notice from employers against a union of more than 700 foremen.
The BC Maritime Employers Association says in a statement that it will "defensively" lock out members of the International Longshore and Warehouse Union Local 514 starting Monday at 8 a.m., shutting down all cargo operations provincewide but leaving cruise ships and operations for grain vessels unaffected.

Sask. food banks see 42 per cent usage increase in 5 years
Food Banks Canada released their HungerCount 2024 report, detailing food bank visits across the country in March 2024.
A total of 2 million visits were logged in Canada, with 52,877 of those taking place across 39 food banks in Saskatchewan.
A West Central Halloween
Everyone in the West Central Region sure knows how to celebrate Halloween. Between handing out tricks, full-sized treats and shenanigans through and through, it would seem like a successful Halloween this year.
Kiley Briscoe explained in a comment that she "was handing out candy and canned food as a trick. My son must have gotten my gene for shenanigans as him as his friends proceeded to take half of my cans and go door to door.
Kindersley area generates $1.3 Million in latest Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Offering
The Government of Saskatchewan’s October oil and natural gas public offering brought in $7.3 million, with the Kindersley region contributing over $1.3 million to the total. Held on Tuesday, October 29, 2024, the public offering saw 93 of 112 posted parcels successfully bid upon, covering 15,347 hectares province-wide.

I don't know about you, but Ashlyn and Rustyn Paul are hoping to feel 22.
The local Swift Current mother and daughter have gone viral on social media seeking the perfect night when they see Taylor Swift on November 21st in Toronto.
They made a sign and posted it online as they end up dreaming they'll convince Swift to give Rustyn her 22 hat at the concert.
