Ministers call on Washington lawmakers to scrap tariff threat completely ▶️

Key cabinet ministers returned to Washington Tuesday to keep pressing Canada's economic case as a month-long pause on Donald Trump's tariff threat has done little to ease Canada's concerns.

"I do think there are opportunities for conversations to enable us actually to move away from the conversation about tariffs," Energy and Natural Resources Minister Jonathan Wilkinson said Tuesday.

Big Six Playoffs rolling through the southeast as one series ends and another heats up

Last night saw the Big Six Hockey League take to the ice and settle one series while another heats up.

The Carlyle Cougars took out the Midale Mustangs with a 9-0 win, sealing that series for the Cougars 3-0.

Meanwhile, the Oxbow Huskies and the Carnduff Red Devils faced off for their second game with the Huskies winning 2-0 and establishing a 2-0 series lead.

The Huskies and Red Devils will be on the ice again Thursday in Carnduff for a potential end to the series.

RCMP investigating several sudden deaths on Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation

RCMP officers are investigating a fatal incident after a report of sudden deaths at the Carry the Kettle Nakoda Nation.

On February 4, at around 11:15 a.m., File Hills First Nations Police Service received a report of sudden deaths at a residence. Upon responding officers located four deceased persons in the residence.

As the investigation is ongoing, the RCMP said that they are unable to provide further details about the deceased persons at this time but will do so once they are able to. They also confirmed that next of kin notifications are complete.

Snowstorm to blanket southern Saskatchewan with 10-20 cm of snow

A snowstorm is expected to hit southern Saskatchewan over the next couple of days, bringing with it 10 to 20 centimeters of fluffy snow.  

According to Environment Canada Meteorologist Danielle Desjardins, the system we will experience is a clipper system tracking from the United States that looks to be more intense than initially forecasted.

They're hosting the Semi-Annual Meeting & Honour Scroll Banquet this week on February 7th.

SSGA President Jeff Yorga says that the event is historically a big part of Saskatchewan and they want to give it the credit it deserves.

Opposition parties call for Parliament's return after Trump hits pause on tariffs

The federal Conservatives and New Democrats say the government needs to recall Parliament within the next month to act on U.S. President Donald Trump's tariff threat.

On Monday, Trump agreed not to impose punishing tariffs on Canadian imports until March 4 after striking a deal with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau over two phone calls.

Trudeau says he presented Trump with the federal government's plan to secure the border and tackle fentanyl production and trafficking.
