November Fundraiser focused on fun with a Mexican twist!

Last year's wild west fundraiser went so well for Killarney's Roots of Early Learning they brought it back by popular demand, only this year it's got that fiesta twist with Mexican food, music and decor.

Executive Director, Susan Nafziger, says they're expecting a fantastic festive night with folks coming dressed for the part.  She adds there might even be prizes for best costumes and other note-worthy accessories.

She says the $50 ticket includes food, fun and play money for the casino.

Art and Wildlife Unite: A Summer to Remember at Boissevain's Wildlife Museum

The summer was really great for the Irvin Goodon Wildlife Museum this year, says Boissevain-Morton Executive Assistant, Melissa Perkins.

"We saw just a ton of visitors and increased traffic which was wonderful!  It kind of felt like we were back to those pre-covid normal summers for tourism travel," she says. "And a big showcase for us this year was the success of the artisan gallery within the museum."

The joint partnership between the Wildlife Museum and the Boissevain Arts Council and the talented local artists brought in 20 different artists.

Accompanied by the women's families, who also brought with them their spiritual supports, one of which was a Christian pastor, Kinew says the moment happened on their way back down the hill.

Keeping faith the priority with Blue Bombers' Sergio Castillo, Noah and Nick Hallett

While the road has had many ups and downs for Winnipeg Blue Bombers' Sergio Castillo, Noah Hallett, and Nick Hallett, they credit their faith to helping them get through the challenging circumstances.

Castillo originally started the sport after being recruited from the soccer team. He says, "One day the football coach came over to the soccer fields like, 'Hey, we're looking for a football kicker' and, you know, I went to go try out and have been doing this for 16 years."
