Red Wings are off to the SJHL Finals
Josh Sale tipped a point shot from Dallen Oxelgren just over five minutes into overtime to give the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings a berth in the SJHL finals. The goal gave the Red Wings a 3-2 win in the game and a 4-2 win in the series over the Flin Flon Bombers.
"I just saw the shot coming and realized I probably needed to deflect it," Sale said of the series-winning goal. "I deflected it in, and I kind of blacked out for a second, then realized we won. It's kind of the best feeling in the world."

In the Junior A Novice 42 kg class, Medicine Hat Boxing Club's Kade Steiger won against the Soo Line Boxing Club's Andrew Palomares-Erickson.
In the Junior B Novice 53 kg class, the Alliance Boxing Club's Manuel Oraha won against United Boxing Club's Hunter Gagne.
City of Weyburn accessibility survey launches today
The City of Weyburn has officially launched their accessibility survey.
They're asking all residents, businesses, and organizations in the city to participate in the survey, which will directly influence the city's accessibility plan, which will be completed by December.

Weyburn mayor, city councillors, take in first days of SUMA convention
Weyburn Mayor Jeff Richards is among the many municipal leaders attending the annual Saskatchewan Urban Municipalities Association (SUMA) convention and AGM, currently underway in Saskatoon.

Housing starts in Weyburn sees growth
Weyburn is seeing signs of renewed growth in residential construction, according to early 2025 data from City Hall.
Through the first three months of the year, the city has received one official application for a new home, with additional applications expected to be submitted in April. Several applications from late 2024 also remain active, pointing to sustained interest in development.
