Red Wings and Millionaires square off in crucial home-and-home series
The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings will be back in action tonight, as they open a home-and-home series with the Melville Millionaires at Crescent Point Place. The game has a lot on the line, with the Millionaires four points back of the Wings in the standings.
“This is a massive weekend,” said Red Wings head coach Cody Mapes after practice Thursday. “We could end up tied or end up by eight points. It’s probably the biggest weekend of the year so far.”
Red Wings stumble in Radville against Hounds
The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings took to the road Tuesday night for a game against the Notre Dame Hounds. The neutral site game in Radville felt more like a home game for the Wings, with a number of Weyburn faithful in the stands. It would be the actual home team though, the Hounds, who came away with the win, skating to a 6-3 victory after rallying from a 3-1 deficit.

UPDATE: Another move announced at the roster deadline involved the Humboldt Broncos. They have added goaltender jared Picklyk. He was traded in the WHL from the Tri-City Americans to the Lethbridge Hurricanes, and then assigned to the Broncos.

Red Wings grab pair of big wins on the weekend
The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings picked up two wins on the weekend over the Estevan Bruins. While the wins were significant for the Wings, fans will be talking about how empty nets played a big part in the games for years to come.
Friday night saw the Red Wings in Estevan for a matchup to start off the home-and-home that marked the return from the Christmas break for both teams.

The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings return to the ice Friday night, after getting an extended break over the Christmas holidays. They will do so by playing their Highway 39 rivals, the Estevan Bruins, in a home and home series that starts in Estevan.
Mason, Morgan lighting things up for Red Wings
At the November roster deadline, one of most sought-after players in the SJHL was Ryler Morgan. Originally from St. Albert, Alberta, he was with the La Ronge Ice Wolves, where he had put up 58 points in 64 games over the past two seasons, including 24 points in the first 22 games of the current campaign.
Wings drop two games over weekend
Despite a strong start to the Weyburn Red Wings six-game home stand, the Wings couldn't take advantage this weekend, dropping two games.
On Friday night the Wings took on the La Ronge Ice Wolves at Crescent Point Place.
Ty Mason opened the scoring with a goal for Weyburn just two minutes into the first period. La Ronge answered in the second, with a goal from Handel. Mason came back just a few minutes later with another goal before La Ronge hit their stride, landing another two goals during the second period.
It's Hockey Day in Weyburn this Saturday!
Anyone who loves hockey, and especially if they are fans of the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings and the Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Gold Wings, is likely going to want to be down at the rink tomorrow, Saturday, December 3rd, for Hockey Day in Weyburn.
"We are having a day with the Red Wings and Gold Wings starting at 10:30 in the morning we will have a street hockey game with the players from both teams," shared Kenda Kittelson is with Hockey Weyburn..
"We invite all kids to come out and take part. Please dress, warm and bring your own stick."
Weyburn Red Wings back in the win column
The Weyburn Red Wings snapped their four-game losing streak on home ice last night, coming away with a 4-1 win over Yorkton Terriers.
The Red Wings opened the scoring roughly four minutes into the first period, with a goal by Jackson Hassman. Yorkton answered the goal just a few minutes later but Jakob Kalin closed out the period in style, scoring with just fifteen seconds left.
