McDonald’s has captured its second straight Alex Tumang Cup.

A strong fourth quarter lifted the team to a 67–56 victory over the Pinoy Brothers on June 14 at the SLS Centre.

Rosetown has been the Canadian training ground for the last two CanAm Bowl six-aside football championships, and for the first time in game history will be the host location for the next edition of the game coming up on July 1.

The day represents an all-star game showcase between Team Canada (players from Saskatchewan/Alberta) and Team USA (Montana, Nebraska, Wyoming, & Texas) and has been taking place since July 1997. All players must be recent high school graduates for that year and have played at least their Grade 12 year as a member of a 6-aside team.

Rain is the only thing that can hold back another week of senior baseball starting around West Central on Monday night. There are two games on the schedule for June 16, one in the Coteau Hills Baseball League and another in the Fertile Valley Baseball League.

Starting off in the CHBL, it's going to be a special game in Elrose between the U18 Wartime Marlins and Kyle Sr. Yellowjackets.  

Over the weekend, longtime broadcaster Clayton Dreger was inducted into the Manitoba Baseball Hall of Fame.

Dreger retired in January of this year and he says it's been everything he thought it would be. "Awesome," he says with that well known smile. "That's the word I've told everybody who's asked, it really is. When 7:30 p.m. rolled around and you knew that it was time to go to bed because the alarm goes off at 2:00 a.m. No, it's just so amazing to stay up till 11:30 and wake up at 6:50, plan your day, do whatever, yeah, it's been pretty special."

The Okotoks Dawgs took down the Energy City Cactus Rats on Saturday and Father's Day Sunday.

3-2 was the final score in Saturday's game, and 8-3 was the final on Father's Day.

The club couldn't get past the Medicine Hat Mavericks on Friday, though and lost 5-4.

However, the team is back in first place in the WCBL West, leading the Lethbridge Bulls and the Sylvan Lake Gulls by half a game.

Two Estevan athletes reached the podium at the Special Olympics Provincial Bocce Championships this past weekend.

Chanse Vigen, who now calls Calgary home, is this year's Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede's chuckwagon champ for the second straight year.

Vigen was matched against the wagons driven by Kurt Bensmiller and Rae Croteau Jr for the $10,000 final on Father's Day.

Vigen and Croteau Jr tied for first in the final heat, but Croteau Jr had 5 seconds of penalties, dropping him into third.

Locally, High River's Jason Glass entered the third event of the season leading in the World Standings.

The U11 Humboldt Thunder Girls Softball team picked up another tournament win, this time winning the Murphy’s tournament in Saskatoon over the weekend.  

In the round robin, the Thunder stormed out to a strong start winning their first three games, 19-2 over the Heat, 25-0 against the Saskatoon Lasers, and 20-0 against the Saskatoon Phantom Blues.  

The 18U AAA East Central Red Sox dropped both games of a doubleheader against the Saskatoon Diamondbacks on Sunday.  

In the first game the Diamondbacks won a wild 14-13 game. Then in the second game, Saskatoon beat the Red Sox 18-6.  

The Diamondbacks led the first game 7-2 after the first four innings before the Red Sox came back with ten runs in the bottom of the fifth inning to lead 12-7.  

The Estevan U13A Bulldogs were busy over the weekend, playing four games against two different opponents.

On Saturday, the Bulldogs hosted the Regina Royals Purge for a doubleheader at home. Estevan came out swinging, taking both games with scores of 10–7 and 12–6. The Bulldogs' pitchers held the Purge to just eight hits across the two games, while Madison Zukewich and Quinn Zahn each launched home runs to power the offence.
