The Western Hockey League champion Moose Jaw Warriors are the Golden West Radio – DiscoverMooseJaw Team of the Year for 2024.

There have been times in the past when we’ve had to take time to look back at the accomplishments of local teams and make tough decisions on which team was the best.

This year, there was no question. We didn’t even have to have a meeting.

Our local Western Hockey League team won 44 of their 68 regular season games.

Shamrocks beaming with pride after fantastic season

It was an amazing season for the Killarney Shamrocks of the Tiger Hills Hockey League, who after winning the league championship, battled the SEMHL champion Ste. Anne Aces in a series that won't soon be forgotten.

While the results at the end were not what they were looking for, there's nothing but great memories and smiles for the Shamrocks.

Flyers looking to rebound after falling into 2-0 series hole

The Winkler Flyers struggled to find the back of the net for a second consecutive game as they lost game two of their semi-finals series 3-1 on Sunday.

By the numbers, the first period was more of a tight checking, if not cautious approach by both teams.

The Northern Manitoba Blizzard displayed a patient game while the Flyers didn't make any mistakes either, bring a 0-0 draw through the first twenty minutes.

U18 AA Estevan Apex Bruins close out season with weekend loss in league finals

Another Estevan hockey team has closed up shop for the season, after being part of a great playoff run. The U18 AA Estevan Apex Bruins managed to make it to their league finals, before losing in two games to the Martensville Marauders.

The first game saw them fall 2-1 in overtime back in March, before they lost another game this weekend.
