MacGregor to welcome back U18 hockey team this season after near-decade absence
For the first time in nearly a decade, U18 hockey is returning to MacGregor. Brett Davey, President of the MacGregor Minor Hockey Association, made the announcement on Facebook a while ago, and the organizers are now waiting to find out what league the team will be playing in.
Davey outlines why they are coming back now.
Cabri Wins U15 C Provincials
The Cabri Bulldogs will walk together forever.
They are Hockey Saskatchewan U15 C Provincial Champions.
The Bulldogs knocked off Outlook 3-1 to secure the win.
The two-game series was tied after a 6-6 Game 1.
Cabri beat Langenburg and Eston to get to the championship series.
Swift Current wins U13 A hockey provincials
Another banner to hang in Swift Current.
The Broncos are the Hockey Saskatchewan U13 A Provincial Champions.
Swift Current beat Estevan 4-2 in the deciding second game of their series.
The teams had tied at 4 in Game 1.

Broncos fall in Game 2
Fireworks flew and the dramatics were high in Game Two of the Eastern Conference Quarter Final as the Swift Current Broncos dropped a 6-3 decision to the Medicine Hat Tigers Saturday night.
China, Scotland join Canada as undefeated teams at men’s worlds
After Day 2 of the BKT World Men’s Curling Championship at the Temple Gardens Centre in Moose Jaw, Canada, China and Scotland are the only remaining undefeated teams.
Canada had the bye during Sunday evening’s draw, but China and Scotland each picked up wins.
China was leading Italy 6-4 heading into the ninth end before scoring three points to make the final 9-4.
Meanwhile, Korea held tough against the Scots. Scotland only held a 6-3 lead heading into the ninth end. They also scored three for a 9-3 win.
Canada finishes off opening weekend 3-0
It's been a hot start for Team Canada at the BKT World Men's Curling Championship at the Temple Gardens Centre.
Canada defeated South Korea 9-3 in the afternoon draw to move to 3-0 to remain atop the standings.
Canada opened with the hammer. Jacobs drew to the side of the button for three to start the game. In the second, Canada forced Korea to draw for their single point.
After Korean skip Hyojun Kim came up light on his last rock, Jacobs drew a piece of the button for two to give Canada a 5-1 lead after three ends.
Scotland stays undefeated in morning draw
Team Canada had the bye for the morning draw at the BKT World Men’s Curling Championship at the Temple Gardens Centre on Sunday. However, there was still plenty of action.
All eyes were on world No. 1 Scotland as they took on Japan.
Scotland scored four in the second, but Japan scored four right back in the third end. But late steals by Scotland led them to a 9-7 win. Scotland now sits at 2-0 in the standings.
In other action during the morning draw, China remained undefeated stunning the United States 8-2.
Flyers survive Nighthawks surge, win in double overtime to claim 3-2 series lead
It was a game filled with incredible swings with the Winkler Flyers owning the first period, but the Niverville Nighthawks taking over the second period, before a double overtime winner by Winkler gave them a 3-2 series lead.
With the series tied, the Flyers wanted to come out and establish some dominance early.
They did just that.
Andrew Morton opening the scoring six minutes in as the 20-year-old forward picked off a pass from a Nighthawks defender, walked in and buried a shot top shelf, moving Winkler ahead 1-0. The goal was unassisted.
Total team effort keeps Pistons alive, trail series 3-2
It was a complete 60-minute effort by everyone wearing blue and white as the Steinbach Pistons survived their first game facing elimination, defeating the Portage Terriers 3-1 on Saturday night.
It was an electric atmosphere inside the Southeast Event Centre. A packed house, a live performance by "The Villains" and a wonderful moment for Special Olympics medalist athlete Will Middleton, who dropped the puck along side Mayor Earl Funk, had positive energy reverberating around the spectacular facility.
The Pistons did their part to keep the good vibes high.
Red Wings edged out in overtime to force Game 6
The Richardson Pioneer Weyburn Red Wings had a chance to clinch their best-of-seven quarterfinal series against the Battlefords North Stars in five games Saturday night. Game 5 would go to overtime at Crescent Point Place, but it would be the North Stars coming out on top, winning 4-3.
The Red Wings were first on the board when Braigh LeGrandeur scored his first of the post-season with 4:46 left to go in the first period. The goal was assisted by Ryder Rommelaere and Drew Molde.
