Dates announced for All-Candidates Forums for Ponoka-Didsbury Riding

Dates have been announced for a couple of Federal Election Forums being held in the Ponoka-Didsbury Riding.

The Ponoka & District Chamber of Commerce is hosting an All-Candidates Forum on Tuesday, April 15 at the Moose Lodge No.1633 Ponoka, (5000 – Hwy 2A).

Doors will open at 6:30 pm, with the forum running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The forum will focus on key issues impacting the local community, providing insights into each candidate’s platform and vision for the region.

Calving season going well in Saskatchewan as snow melts and producers prepare

With the weather warming and spring coming to the prairies, producers have been going through calving season with plenty of work for them. 

Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan Vice-President Chris Procyk says that, from what he's heard, it's been a decent season in the province.

Alberta Health Services halts plan to reduce patient food, drinks after pushback

The head of Alberta Health Services says the agency is halting a proposed food-reduction policy after public outcry over patients potentially being cut off from snacks and drinks.

The agency's interim president and CEO, Andre Tremblay, said the policy was set to go into effect Tuesday to change how food is stored and delivered in an effort to reduce waste -- not to deprive patients of food.

E-scooter operator sustains injuries after being hit by vehicle

An individual riding an e-scooter was injured Monday evening in Red Deer after being struck by a vehicle.

The incident occurred at the intersection of 77 St. and Gaetz Ave.

RCMP say the individual on the scooter failed to yield to a truck that was passing by at the time.

Police were unable to provide further details on the extent of the injuries.

 

RCMP seeking assistance in locating missing 35-year-old, last seen in Red Deer

The Red Deer RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in locating missing 35-year-old Ruby Toutsaint.

She was last seen in Red Deer on March 25.

There is concern for her wellbeing.

She is described as:

·        5 feet 4 inches and approximately 130 pounds

·        Medium complexion

·        Brown hair (recently shaved) and brown eyes
