This is who Cavalry FC will face first in this year's TELUS Canadian Championship
Cavalry FC's opponent in the 2025 TELUS Canadian Championship Preliminary Round has been revealed.
They'll host Edmonton's Scottish United SC on ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows on Tuesday, May 6.
This will be the first time Cavalry has faced Scottish United, and there's a lot on the line.
The preliminary round is a single-game knockout round, with the winner to advance to the two-match quarter-final.
Vancouver Whitecaps FC will start the tournament in the second round, having received a bye.

Canadian youth invited to help name police puppies
For anyone who'd like to help name RCMP puppies, now is your chance.
The RCMP's Name the Puppy contest is currently open for Canadian youth aged 4 to 14, where they can propose names for some of the RCMP's newest puppies.
Children from every province and territory in Canada can take part in the contest and send them creative names which reflect the role the dogs will have as Police Service Dogs.
As part of the contest, the RCMP is looking for puppy names that begin with the letter 'A', must be no more than 9 letters long, and must be only one or two syllables.

Olivia Cotton Cornwall takes over as the fifth curator of the museum with Irene Kerr retiring late last year.
Cornwall has been with the museum for over a decade already.
"I started as a summer student in 2013, three weeks before the floods hit and since then I've been involved in various ways. I've been a volunteer, I've been a full-time staff, I came back as a summer student, so it's been a long time."

The Foothills Falcons Senior Girls' and Boys' teams are flying high these days.
The Sr. Girls took home the championship at the recent Magrath Heartbreaker tournament over the weekend.
They faced the #1 ranked and undefeated LCI Clippers and took them down 90-64. They then dropped Jasper Place 74-53 and followed it with a 76-62 win over crowd favourites, the Raymond Comets.
Local group looking to boost crime prevention efforts
Citizens on Patrol Okotoks is looking to bolster its numbers to better address local crime.
The crime prevention group, which has been around since 2016, consists of volunteers who work in cooperation with the RCMP to inform them of any criminal activity they come across.
Their membership has been waning recently, however, and they currently stand at just four members.
Volunteers with the group go out on patrols in pairs whenever they're able, ideally for a few hours at a time in the evening.

The RCMP and the Okotoks Municipal Enforcement have a public survey open, where residents and business owners are able to provide input on the policing needs in the community.
Crashed Delta plane cleared from Toronto airport runway
The wreck of a crashed Delta Air Lines jet has been cleared from a runway at Toronto's Pearson International Airport.
The airline says removing the wreckage took several hours on Wednesday.
Delta says it could be weeks before bags from the plane are returned to their owners because of the inspection and cleaning process.
The airline has offered US$30,000 in compensation to passengers who were on the plane, saying the money "has no strings attached."
All 76 passengers and four crew members survived when Delta Flight 4819 crash landed at Pearson on Monday.
