There are some railway closures in Foothills County this week
Some railway crossings will be closed today and tomorrow in Foothills County.
Canadian Pacific Railway will be closing the at-grade rail crossing at 250th Ave and 16th St West today (Nov. 7) so they can complete some crossing improvements.
Tomorrow (Nov. 8), Canadian Pacific will also be closing the at-grade rail crossing at 274th Ave and Meridian St. for crossing improvements.
The work at both sites, on both days, will occur between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., which will also cause a road closure at each location.
Some changes could be coming to several pieces of legislation, which could change the number of electoral boundaries in Alberta
The Alberta government has introduced Bill 31, the Justice Statutes Amendment Act, 2024, which will make changes to several pieces of legislation.
This Amendment Act will make changes to the Electoral Boundaries Commission Act, the Public's Right to Know Act, the Critical Infrastructure Defence Act, and the Alberta Evidence Act.
"Alberta's population is on the rise. And with that comes a necessity to ensure that Albertans have fair representation in the legislative assembly," Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Mickey Amery stated at a media conference.
Harvest season is a wrap, and it was a good one
