Safe Families Canada - Steinbach is hosting their annual Dino Run Fundraiser this weekend and it’s always a fun event to attend while helping a great organization! 

Sue Doerksen, Chapter Director in Steinbach says Safe Families is an organization that tries to get involved with families who may be in crisis and don’t have help elsewhere.

The Weyburn Agricultural Society is getting prepared to host their annual Fall Craft & Trade Show on September 28th. Located at the Weyburn Ag Exhibition Hall, a fairly new event that according to Weyburn Agricultural Society’s social media manager Brandie Fisher has exploded in popularity. 

You can’t miss it. 

There’s even a giant Don Cherry statue inviting you to stop in. 

The Mortlach Bohemian Market held its grand opening this year and continues to host vendors at its location along Highway 1 while raising funds for local charities.

Sept. 20, 21 and 22nd 2024 we are pumped to see the return of Ribfest! Everything kicks off Friday at 4pm, and we're excited to have all 3 ribbers back once again for this years event! (see audio below)

On top of the usual tasty and delicious food that will be on hand for Ribfest, they've also included something new in the event this year, with the inclusion of the family fun zone! (see audio below)

A year and a half ago, Lisa and Mike Rogal lost their 19-year-old son Kailer to suicide and early on in their grief journey, they decided the best thing to do was raise awareness and help others who may be struggling with mental health. 

Each year since his passing, the Rogal’s will pick a different Drop In Centre to fundraise for in Kailer’s name. 

There is lots of great stuff going down in Cochrane this weekend. 

Great Cochrane Outhouse Races Sunday, September 22

The past few years have plagued the St. Jean ATV derby with rain and poor weather but for the 2024 derby, it is looking dry, warm and the organizers could not be more excited!

Held every year on the third weekend in September, the population of St. Jean can double and sometimes triple with the number of machines, people and campers that roll into town for Canada's Largest ATV/UTV Derby.

In addition to all the muddy fun, the group Almost Famous will be performing Friday night and Ricky Smits take the stage on Saturday.

Things worked out great for Daryl Swan and his team as we arrived just as they were finishing up on the field. With rumbling bellies and a sense of accomplishment the supper provided by Kerrobert Reddi Mart really hit the spot.

After an exhaustive multi-day search for a beloved miniature donkey missing from his Bragg Creek home, Goliath has been found deceased. 

"At 5:30pm, drone operator Dominic started to check the land by air while 2 dear clients set off to walk the land," reads a social media post by Dr. Judith Samson-French, the owner of Goliath.
