'Farm Crew' campagin encourages keeping farming in the family

E. Bourassa & Sons has been running a campaign on social media to showcase the inter-generational impact of farming.

Allyson Van Roon said their recent donation to the Weyburn Theatre ties in with this theme.

"E Bourassa & Sons, the fifth generation is now working in this business, so that was a lot of ways where our farm crew came into and then the movie theatre fit into that. So it's just in line with the vision that we have."

Innovation in action: Southeast College takes research to the stage

Southeast College is preparing for a busy fall of research, collaboration and knowledge-sharing.

Tanya Andrist, executive director of innovation and applied research, joined us in studio this week to highlight the college’s upcoming work.

She reflected on the recent graduation of students from Ocean Man First Nation.

“It was such a validation of that program. We were so proud of the students and also the partnership out at Ocean Man — it was a great day,” Andrist said.

Dairy Queen Celebrate Summer wraps up after a season of community fun

The season of fairs, festivals, and outdoor celebrations is winding down, which also means the end of Dairy Queen Celebrate Summer. 

This year, summer events host Andrea Turner travelled across the southeast, attending more than 40 community gatherings. She was often seen in the Dairy Queen Celebrate Summer Jeep, handing out coupons and connecting with communities. 

'Better than any award': Zach Williams concert shares joy in Steinbach

Over 4,000 people attended the Zach Williams concert on Saturday evening at the Southeast Event Centre in Steinbach to celebrate a magjor milestone in local Christian education.

Homegrown favourite, Jordan St.Cyr, was the opening act of the night and performed his singles, "Fires," and "Weary Traveler," among others.

St.Cyr shared his heart behind the songs and how God has moved in his family's life over the years. He also provided encouragment for others.

Petal, a sleek black cat with a gentle personality, has been living at KC Rescue, where she quickly became the “big sister” of the kitten room. Staff say she is affectionate, playful and thrives on human closeness.
