Food safety tips following a power outage

With potential power outages becoming more of a possibility due to unstable weather, the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is reminding residents to take extra precautions frozen and refrigerated food is safe after a power outage. 

For refrigerated food, potentially hazardous food that is above 4°C (40°F) for more than two hours should be discarded.  

Louis Dreyfus Company holds groundbreaking ceremony for new pea protein isolate production plant


Louis Dreyfus Company (LDC) held its official groundbreaking ceremony this week in Yorkton as it starts construction on a new pea protein isolate production plant.

The new plant will be located next to the company's current LDC canola crushing facility.

The company says the new pea protein isolate production facility is expected to be ready by the end of 2025, and will employ about 60 people.

RCMP say no charges to be laid in bus crash that killed 17 seniors heading to casino

Police will not be laying charges in a bus crash that killed 17 people in western Manitoba.

RCMP say they do not expect to be able to talk to the bus driver, who was severely injured in the crash.

And they say officers have found no explanation as to why he pulled into an intersection when it wasn't safe.

The bus, carrying seniors to a casino, collided with a semi-trailer while crossing the Trans-Canada Highway near the town of Carberry last June.

Bruno and RM of Bayne celebrate opening of emergency services facility

Around 400 people converged on the brand new Emergency Services Building to Bruno to celebrate the grand opening with a burger supper and a program.  

The ground was broken on the project roughly a year ago, and with the completion of the building, the Bruno Fire Department and its emergency responders have a state of the art facility that will be able to house all their equipment and provide an appropriate meeting and training site for its volunteer members.
