All hands are on deck in Niverville during the holiday season.

Larissa Sandulak of Niverville Helping Hands says she is grateful for how the 88 Christmas hampers came together with the community's help.

Sandaluk thanks community members for sponsoring the hampers and helping fill their needs.

“Words honestly don't do it justice,” Sandaluk says. “We could not do anything without their help. The numbers are overwhelming. The need is overwhelming. But when everybody does just a little bit, it just becomes so feasible and so attainable.”

Sandaluk says when the need rose, more people stepped up to sponsor a hamper.

She says it wouldn’t be possible without their volunteers who helped pack hampers. The New Bothwell and Niverville Fire Departments helped deliver them.

“This year, our volunteers are fantastic. We had a quick and efficient group packing all the hampers this past Monday. It went so smoothly. We could not have done any of this without them,” she says.

Looking ahead to the new year, donations will be ongoing. Sandaluk says they have more needs during the winter months than other times.

“If people just could keep us in mind, even though maybe the giving season is kind of going to come to an end. If they could just drop off a food item or two whenever they think about us over the winter months, that would go a long way,” she says.
