Marika Siewert and Brian Doerksen have released a new single.
The pair, who are friends in real life and collaborators as artists, songwriters and filmmakers, first met around 15 years ago.
"We cast Markia in a vocal role for a musical we were writing and then recording all the soundtrack for, and she was just perfect for a role," said Doerksen. "Ever since then, we've tried to come up with a way we can collaborate and make our differences turn into a harmony that made it more than just two individual things."
Last year, the pair released their first song 'Every Dream.' Their latest release is 'In Search Of,' written with Phil Wickham, Adam Watts and Gannin Arnold.
"There is a vulnerability with writing music, with stepping in front of a microphone and singing in a studio. It's like all of who you are is exposed in that moment. To do that with someone you really trust. That you respect. That inspires you. It's just such a privilege," said Brian.
"It's also really special when you can find someone to collaborate with and trust," echoed Marika.
Marika hopes the song will deeply impact listeners.
"For me, there is just this ache in this song that I resonated with. And I think it's something that others can resonate with," said Marika.
Doerksen and Siewert recently completed a 10-date city tour. The pair are preparing for their Come Now Is The Time To Worship Tours in Canada, the US and the UK.
