There will be a new Vice Principal at Shevchenko School in Vita, starting in September.
Hal Lavery will replace Aaron Klassen who, according to the Border Land School Division (BLSD), has decided to use his gifts and passions in the classroom full time at the school.
An educator since 2011, Lavery's work experience includes teaching in the middle and high school areas of science, and he has provided support in Guidance and Resource.
He currently holds a Bachelor of Education and is completing a Post- Baccalaureate from the University of Manitoba specializing in Guidance.
According to a BLSD news release, Lavery believes the foundation for all leadership resides in relationships, and he is passionate about community building.
Lavery is looking forward to continuing to grow the relationships between the school and the broader community in his new role as Vice Principal and is eager to be a positive role model within the school in order to foster an environment that encourages others to become future leaders by helping them find and use their strengths to overcome challenges.
