There is a large police presence in Niverville following an officer-involved shooting early Wednesday morning.

RCMP say one man is dead, one female is in custody and one male fled the scene in a stolen vehicle.

Manitoba RCMP and Winnipeg police have been at the scene on Drovers Run in Niverville since 3 a.m. As a result, the street has been shut down and is expected to remain closed for most of the day.

Motorists and pedestrians are encouraged to avoid the area.

More information will be provided as soon as it is available.

RCMP say a Winnipeg Police vehicle, with bullet holes in the windshield, is connected to the Niverville shooting. The vehicle is parked at the intersection of Highway 59 and Provincial Road 305.
