This will be an exciting weekend with two fun events you and the family can attend!

Friday, July 5 – St. Labre 200

The event starts on Friday when racers receive their kits and have 24 hours to build their go-karts.

Races begin on Saturday with a practice session at 9am and Heat 1 at 11:30am. Races will take place throughout the day to eliminate drivers and A-Side finals will be at 5:30pm followed by the trophy presentation and fireworks.

Hughette Vallee says it all started when her brothers would battle to see who could build the better go-kart and 15 years ago, the St. Labre 200 became an official event.

She goes on to explain some other activities to expect over the weekend.

“We have a rubber boot toss, which is one of my favourites,” she says. “We have races for the kids on the BMX track, the excavator rodeo is set up on Saturday, and there’s lots of other stuff to do everywhere as well.”

Vallee says the event is free and they also offer free camping for the weekend. They have hot showers on site and a great canteen.

The campsite and registration will be open to racers beginning on Thursday.

Saturday, July 6 – Soup's On celebration

Soup’s On is celebrating their 20-year anniversary and is celebrating with the community.

Enjoy a farmer sausage burger or a hot dog from 11am to 2pm at the Grace Mennonite Church parking lot in Steinbach.

They will also have Dexter’s Mini Donuts, coffee from Stone City, and kid's activities including face painting and bouncy castles.

Come down to celebrate this incredible organization and show your support!
