The application deadline has come and gone in Manitoba's PC leadership race, and the party has confirmed two candidate packages have been submitted.
They are from Fort Whyte MLA, Obby Kahn, and Manitoba businessman, Wally Daudrich.
Obby Khan submitted his completed application on Wednesday, October 2nd. The LEC has completed its review of Mr. Khan’s application and conducted a candidate interview. The LEC confirms that Mr. Obby Khan has been approved to run in the PC Party’s leadership race.
Wally Daudrich submitted his completed application on Monday, October 14th. The LEC has now begun its review of Mr. Daudrich’s application and will provide an update on Mr. Wally Daudrich’s status once the LEC review, including a candidate interview, is completed.
All approved candidates will sit down with former Radisson PC MLA James Teitsma at an event October 30th, where they will discuss their vision for the party and the province, and answer questions from the public.
A new leader for the Official Opposition will be elected next spring.
