2024 and 2025 marked the 150th anniversaries of Mennonite communities in Manitoba and in this season of Still Speaking, host Conrad Stoesz from the Mennonite Heritage Archives is telling stories around this theme.
Johann Schroeder lived an eventful and difficult life. He made it to Manitoba in the spring of 1875, but he might not have survived the journey if it wasn’t for an unlikely lifesaving device.
Enjoy the entire life story of Johann Schroeder on Episode 3 of Still Speaking, season three, below:
Still Speaking airs every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15am during the Morning Show, and every Saturday afternoon at 12:15pm.
