It’s been 1140 days since the Broncos last won in the confines of Affinity Place in Estevan. Well, you can leave all that in the past, as well as a four-game losing streak in 2024.

The Broncos put forth their best 60-minite effort in recent memory on the third game in a three day stretch to defeat the Bruins 5-2 on Saturday night.

Jacob Strizzi finished the night with a hattrick rounding out the first half of the season with 18 goals, good for second most in the SJHL heading into the holiday break. Jeter Korte picked up his 7th goal of the season on the man advantage to give the Broncos back-to-back games with a powerplay goal following a stretch of 17 straight powerplays without one. Finally, Josh Sale finished the night with a goal and an assist which included the empty netter.

Edouard Gauthier secured his 10th win of the season stopping 21 of 23.

Both Bruins and Broncos powerplay went 1/4.

A valiant effort was needed and given by all 20 skaters to prevent a five-game slide and a rather unhappy holiday hiatus as the Broncos have now hopped back into the final playoff spot and will return to the ice on January 4, 2025.
