Canadian Christian singer and songwriter Samantha Ebert is releasing her second single, "Overthinking," on Friday.

"I wrote it in a very similar way and sound to 'Flowers,'" says Ebert, referencing her first single. "It's an honest prayer. You're just telling God what you're going through and it's more of a song where you're venting about your struggles."

For a few years Ebert has struggled with Lyme Disease.

"It's another very unapologetically honest song, but I'm praying that it's going hit that same audience of people who have gone through long periods of suffering. There was a period of time where I felt hopeless. That's kind of what 'Overthinking' is about."

Ebert's first single "Flowers" was released April 19, 2024. She received incredible feedback from it, including finding out that it was on an NBA playlist

"Honestly, I feel like there's been so many things that have happened that are like they're just laughable at the point because, it's the Lord who's doing it all. Like for a piano ballad to be like an NBA opening song. That's just crazy."

The singer is working on her first EP which will be titled The Waiting

"Whenever we're going through struggles, or we go through heavy seasons in life, we have an option. That's whether we're going to run to God in our pain or we're going to run away from him because he's allowed us to go through this. I really hope it acknowledges how heavy and how hard the circumstance they're going through is, and all of the emotions and thoughts that they have towards the circumstance, but ultimately I hope it doesn't leave them."
