Authorities continue to investigate after nurses at the Altona hospital reported Sunday that a man had come in with stab wounds.
Initially, officers with the Altona Police Service responded but soon learned the incident happened outside of town and, as a result, the file was transferred over to RCMP.
Meantime, RCMP say the man, a 40-year-old from Dominion City, first reported the stabbing to Emerson RCMP shortly before 5:30 that morning. Officers and paramedics headed over to the hospital in Emerson only to find the victim wasn't there. They later learned that he had someone drive him to the Altona hospital.
RCMP say the man is being uncooperative as they try to further the investigation. Police continue to try and identify a suspect.
