The Governor General has dropped the writ for the 2025 Federal Election.
Local candidates will vie to represent the new riding of Swift Current--Grasslands--Kindersley.
Conservative Jeremy Patzer is the incumbent in this region. He has been the local Member of Parliament since 2019.
Terry Sieben is running for the People's Party of Canada.
We do not yet know of any other candidates.
The Liberal Party, NDP, Green Party and Maverick Parties all had candidates for Cypress Hills--Grasslands in 2021.
Patzer won that election with 71.53% of the vote.
Voting day is April 28th.
Advanced voting runs from April 18th to the 21st.
The riding of Cypress Hills-Grasslands has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1997.
Lee Morrison of the Reform and Canadian Alliance parties served as the Member of Parliament from 1997-2003.
Conservative David Anderson succeeded him 2003.
Patzer replaced Anderson as of 2019.

The new riding of Swift Current--Grasslands--Kindersley will lose the Rural Municipalities of Stonehenge, Lake of the Rivers, Willow Bunch, Old Post and Poplar Valley, and all enclosed towns and villages to Souris-Moose Mountain.
It loses the Rural Municipalities of Maple Bush, Enfield, Chaplin, Wheatlands, Caron, Shamrock, Rodgers, Hillsborough, Gravelbourg, Sutton, and Lake Johnston plus all enclosed towns and villages to the riding of Moose Jaw--Lake Centre--Lanigan.
The new local riding now includes the Rural Municipalities of Eye Hill, Grass Lake, Tramping Lake, Reford, Rosemount, Heart's Hill, Progress, Mariposa, Grandview, Antelope Park, Prairiedale, Oakdale, Winslow and all enclosed towns and villages in those RMs from Battlefords--Lloydminster.
It also gains the Rural Municipalities of Biggar, Perdue, Mountain View, Marriott, Harris, Montrose, Pleasant Valley, St. Andrews, Milden and Fertile Valley, including all enclosed towns and villages from Carlton Trail--Eagle Creek.
