With only two weeks remaining before election day, voters in Selkirk Interlake Eastman will have six candidates to choose from in the upcoming federal election.
Monday, April 7th was the close of nominations for candidates in the April 28 election.
Elections Canada has now updated its list of confirmed candidates for each constituency.
The six candidates for Selkirk Interlake Eastman are:
- James Bezan (Conservative Party of Canada)
- Josef Estabrooks (New Democratic Party)
- Byron Gryba (People's Party of Canada)
- Wayne James (Green Party of Canada)
- Rhonda Nichol (Liberal Party of Canada)
- Chris Riddell (United Party of Canada)
Advance voting takes place on:
- Friday, April 18, 2025
- Saturday, April 19, 2025
- Sunday, April 20, 2025
- Monday, April 21, 2025
It is also possible to vote at any of the 500 Elections Canada offices across the country between now and April 22 at 6 pm.
In Selkirk Interlake Eastman, there is an Elections Canada office located at Evergreen Technology and Education Centre, 234 Tudor Lane in Gimli, and an additional office set up at Lutheran Hall, 332 Manitoba Avenue in Selkirk.

Meanwhile, to the west, voters in Portage Lisgar will have five candidates to choose from. They are:
- Janine Gibson (Green Party of Canada)
- Robert Kreis (Liberal Party of Canada)
- Kevin Larson (People's Party of Canada)
- Branden Leslie (Conservative Party of Canada)
- Lisa Tessier (New Democratic Party)
Further west in Riding Mountain, there are also five candidates:
- Lis Clayton (Green Party of Canada)
- Terry Hayward (Liberal Party of Canada)
- Andrew Douglas Maxwell (New Democratic Party)
- Dan Mazier (Conservative Party of Canada)
- Jim Oliver (People's Party of Canada)
