Folks are invited out to the Cabri Community Hall this Saturday for their Community Garage Sale.
Locals and members of the surrounding community have been donating items for the sale from their own garages, attics, and storage units. The goal is to sell these items to raise money for the Hall, ensuring they can keep the lights on, the floors waxed, and the paint pristine.
Wendy Johnson, the Town of Cabri representative on the Community Hall board, has been organizing this event, and is excited for the community to come together on Saturday to show their support.
"Every year we get together and everybody cleans out their treasures," said Johnson. "They donate them to the Hall and the money goes to keeping the Hall going."
Doors for the garage sale will open at 9 a.m. with the event lasting until 1 p.m. People will be able to check in as they wish, poking about the tables to see if there is something they want or need. Most items will be listed for a dollar, but a few of the newer or more valuable items will be adjusted accordingly.
"Last week we had a rummage sale, and we've kept some of the really good items," said Johnson. "Like the shows, the coats, and also some of the sporting goods."
The sale is open to anyone, not just community members. Johnson is also open to discussing directing donations to the hall if anyone is interested in supporting the venue without purchasing items at the sale.
