The City of Grande Prairie invites residents to GP Grows: Dig It on Sunday, May 4 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Activity & Reception Centre, located at 9401 Park Road.

Sponsored by Servus Credit Union and supported by Farm Credit Canada and KLon Services, this free event provides seed potatoes, seed onions and triple-mix soil to promote home gardening and healthy living for approximately 600 to 700 residents. Supplies are available on a first-come, first-served basis—just be sure to bring your own pail or container, up to a maximum of 10 gallons.

“GP Grows: Dig It is a fantastic example of how we can grow more than just gardens—we grow community and connection,” said City of Grande Prairie Mayor, Jackie Clayton. “We’re proud to support programs that make it more accessible for residents to try something new and enjoy the benefits of growing their own food at home.”

Whether you're a seasoned gardener or just starting out, City staff will be on site to answer questions, offer gardening advice and share tips to help you get the most out of your growing season.
