Grande Prairie voters have once again backed Conservative MP Chris Warkentin in a landslide, re-electing him for a seventh straight term. With nearly all polls reporting, Warkentin secured 81.2% of the vote—totaling 47,472 ballots—as of 6 a.m. on April 29.
The long-serving MP has represented the Peace Country since 2006 and says he's honoured to continue serving the region in Ottawa.
Trailing behind were Liberal candidate Maureen McLeod with 11.3%, NDP’s Jennifer Villebrun at 4.4%, the People’s Party’s Shawn McLean at 1.4%, Rhino Party’s Donovan Eckstrom with 0.5%, and independent Elliot McDavid at 0.4%.
