NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. — Two people are facing multiple charges after Battlefords RCMP responded to an armed robbery outside a camper in the early morning hours of May 25.

Police say three individuals attempted to break into a parked camper on 109th Street around 2:35 a.m. One suspect was reportedly carrying a firearm.

A man inside the camper confronted the group, leading to an altercation during which the firearm was pointed at him. It was not discharged, and the suspects fled the scene on foot. The man was not injured.

RCMP officers, with help from the Saskatchewan RCMP Police Dog Services, tracked the suspects to a residence on 110th Street. A male and female were arrested at the location.

Austin Dreaver, 24, and Kalayah Jackson, 19, both from North Battleford, are charged with:

  • Robbery with a firearm

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose

  • Careless use of a firearm

  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm

  • Pointing a firearm

  • Mischief under $5,000

Jackson faces an additional charge of assault.

Both accused were scheduled to appear in North Battleford Provincial Court on Monday.

The third suspect has not been located. The investigation is ongoing.
