An unexpected start turns into a joyful business

Audrianna Argent never planned to run a yoga business, let alone one involving goats in diapers and pink dresses. But Dynamic Goat Yoga, her playful and increasingly popular venture, grew out of a serendipitous moment on her farm.

"I was selling a pair of shoes, and when the buyer came by, the goats ran up to greet her," Argent recalls. "She said, 'You should do goat yoga!' and a light bulb went on."

Inspired by the idea, Argent posted on Facebook to gauge interest. Within 24 hours, she had 68 enthusiastic responses. That was the beginning of a journey that has brought laughter, animal cuddles, and a touch of the unexpected to yoga mats across Alberta.

So what exactly is goat yoga?

"It’s not that the goats are doing yoga," Argent says, laughing. "The people are doing the poses. The goats are just mingling, climbing on your back, nibbling your toes, or trimming your beard."

The experience is equal parts relaxation and entertainment. The goats – especially the baby ones, which weigh no more than eight pounds – are incredibly social. Argent dresses them up for special events, including birthday parties, bachelorette celebrations, and even holiday-themed sessions.

"We had a Valentine's Day goat yoga class that was super popular. Especially for people who don’t love Valentine's Day," she says.

Classes that bring joy year-round

Dynamic Goat Yoga hosts public sessions at least twice a month, often outdoors during the warmer seasons. In winter, classes move into a cozy shop on a neighbouring property, complete with themed decor and festive vibes.

"We do private bookings too," Argent adds. "We've already got several lined up for June, and we even have a bachelorette party booked for August."

Her goats are no strangers to the spotlight either. They appeared in the Hallmark movie Retreat to You, cuddling up to actors and delighting the crew.

From the farm to film and beyond

Argent, a self-proclaimed farm girl from southern Saskatchewan, has always had a connection with animals. She credits her upbringing – and her father's uncanny ability to befriend wild rabbits – for her love of life on the land.

"Goats are just joyful animals," she says. "They love people, and they love to be loved."

For those hesitant about the idea of goat yoga, Argent now offers "Snuggle with Goats" weekends.

"Not everyone wants to do yoga, and that's okay," she says. "You can still come cuddle the goats, visit the horses and puppies, and just enjoy being on the farm."

A business built on happiness

Asked what image she wants people to associate with Dynamic Goat Yoga, Argent doesn’t hesitate.

"A goat on your back, in a beautiful green field, while you're rocking a yoga pose," she says.

It’s not just a workout. It’s a memory in the making – and a chance to laugh, breathe, and maybe even forget what day of the week it is. Get social with Dynamic Goat Yoga on Facebook and Instagram, or book your class right now, at dynamicgoatyoga.com.
