We're being asked to help Carman RCMP's investigation into stolen fuel, taken from a yard in the R.M. of Stanley.

According to authorities, it was on July 18th when the property owner discovered about 900 gallons of diesel fuel and 250 gallons of gas, worth over $5,500, had been siphoned out of the fuel tanks on their yard, located seven miles south of Winkler. They believe the theft happened sometime between July 16th and the 18th.

“The property where the theft occurred is a fairly secluded area, but by having this information out there – you just never know who might have seen something,” said Cst. Savannah Ervick of Carman RCMP. “This was a large amount of fuel that was stolen, and thefts like these don’t happen every day. The owner does not live on the property, and our hopes are that someone did see something suspicious.”

Anyone with information that may be useful to the investigation is asked to contact Carman RCMP at 204-745-6760 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-8477 or submit a secure tip online.
