Heat warning and severe thunderstorm watch for the Peace Country; potential for hail in NE BC

There is a severe thunderstorm watch for the entire Peace Country this afternoon (Aug 1, 2025) and this evening. 

Environment Canada is also forecasting the potential for hail in parts of Northeast British Columbia.  The thunderstorm watch is coupled with a heat warning as the mercury continues to hover around 30 Celsius with the humidex.
