The Fort Falcons Football Club has just received a boost in funding, courtesy of MIX 107 and South Fort Chevrolet.

Funding equipment has been a challenge for the Falcons. They are always looking for ways to get new, good quality equipment for the players, especially with the rising number of registrations for the upcoming season.

"Helmets can average between $125 and $175 for a good helmet," said Joanne Cozley, the treasurer of the Falcons and a field trainer.

The Fort Falcons also recently applied for a grant from the City of Fort Saskatchewan. They are looking to get a few thousand dollars for coaches' headphones. Last year, the club used headphones donated by the Fort Sting.

"It's fantastic to see the community always supporting our association," added Cozley.

You can nominate a group, organization, or sports team to win a Half Grand Helping Hand here. A winner will be drawn on the last Thursday of every month at 8:20 a.m. on MIX 107.
