A local football player is checking out his prospects.

Aaron Parker has already accomplished some impressive feats in his short career. About three years ago, Parker made the switch from hockey to football and fell in love with the sport instantly.

He plays for the Tier 1 Bev Facey Falcons and has won a bantam championship with the Fort Saskatchewan Falcons. Most recently, Parker was voted as the defensive player of the game at the gold medal game at the Canada Cup held in Kelowna, British Columbia.

“I just went to the trial, worked hard, and eventually made it,” he said.

Parker was one of two local players that made the U18 Team Alberta for the Football Canada Cup Tournament. The second was Parker Kellington, who also plays for Bev Facey.

If that wasn’t enough, Parker spent this past weekend checking things out at the University of British Columbia (UBC). UBC’s football coach invited him to participate in a “welcome weekend”, where he was asked to seriously consider the school once he graduates next spring.

It’s still up in the air whether Parker will attend the school, but wherever he ends up, he plans to study athletic therapy.
