If you're looking for a refreshing drink this weekend, look no further than the Squad Squeezers.
Lemonade Stand Day (Aug. 28) is a yearly event focused on helping raise money for the Stollery Children's Hospital. The Squad Squeezers, lead by the Nerbas and Kalyn families, have been raising money in Fort Saskatchewan for the last six years.
The Nerbas and Kalyn families have a personal relationship with the Stollery. Whitney Nerbas' son Jace was born with hydronephrosis and had his kidneys removed on his third birthday.
"He's great now. You wouldn't know there's anything wrong." Whitney said.
Jace's friend Cecily Kalyn, who will also be at the lemonade stand, had a heart transplant as an infant.
"We're called the Squad Squeezers because [Jace] and [Cecily] are both parts of the Stollery Story Squad," said Whitney.
There won't just be lemonade, there's also a mini donut stand, and a group of motorcycle enthusiasts.
Those looking to support the squeezers' goal of $2,000 can help by visiting their stand or by donating money to the Squad Squeezers' website. The Squad Squeezers stand is located at 23 Langley Drive and will be open for business on Sunday from 11 a.m to 2 p.m.
Fort Saskatchewan has one other stand according to the Lemonade Trail Map. There are also stands nearby in Sherwood Park, Ardrossan, Gibbons, Bruderheim and Morinville.
