It's been just over a month since the R.M. of Morris officially opened Phase 1 of its Prairie Hearth residential development in Rosenort.
"Things are progressing along fairly well," explained Reeve Scott Siemens.
Of the 53 lots opened up for sale, 24 are already spoken for.
"So, we're pretty pleased. That's just about halfway there already," added Siemens.
The development was created as an opportunity for the up to 600 workers that travel to Rosenort every day to put down roots and move their families to town. It also includes a ready-to-move daycare announced by the Province at the end of last year. Council has since signed an agreement with the operator of the facility.
"Council was able to enter into a lease agreement with Small Town Kids Daycare," explained Siemens.
Small Town Kids Daycare is a grassroots group that's been trying to establish a childcare facility in Rosenort for some years.
