Nearly 50 organizations were in the kick-off parade Thursday afternoon for the Energy City Ex, put on by the Estevan Exhibition Association.

The parade started around 1600 1st Street, took 14th Avenue up to 4th Street, headed down Souris to 5th Street, and took 13th Avenue to 8th Street, which it followed to the fairgrounds.

The streets were lined with people of all ages enjoying the sights and catching candy. And despite a severe thunderstorm watch, Mother Nature did not rain on the parade.

There was also a kids' rodeo on Thursday night at the Graham Collie Arena.

Friday's action includes:

  • 10 a.m. qualifier rodeo
  • the midway opens at 4 p.m.
  • 6 p.m. rodeo
  • Live music at 9 p.m.

Some of the Saturday fun has:

  • 9 a.m. qualifier rodeo
  • midway at noon
  • 4 p.m. rodeo queen
  • rodeo 5 p.m.
  • 9 p.m.cabaret with Brad Johner and the Johner Boys

And a few events from Sunday are:

  • pancake breakfast and cowboy church at 9 a.m.
  • qualifier rodeo 10 a.m.
  • midway at noon
  • rodeo 2 p.m.
