Up to $50,000 in matching funds offered for school playground projects
Applications are now available for the new School Playground Equipment Grant program.
Eligible projects can receive up to $50,000 in matching funds to build a new playground. The funds can also be used towards adding new equipment or replacing current components of an existing playground.

“We understand that farmers are very busy this time of year, but safety should still be top of mind when working in the fields,” said Nidal Dabghi, Director of Safety at SaskPower in a news release. “Preparation and attentiveness are key to a safe harvest. Slow down, take the time you need, and stay alert.”
Klippers top Broncos 3-1
It was a feisty preseason battle on Monday night at the Elgar Petersen Arena with the Humboldt Broncos falling 3-1 to the Kindersley Klippers.
Gabriel Kaminski scored the lone goal for the Broncos.
Brock Evans, Austin Osiowy, and Van Eger provided the goals for the Klippers.
Kindersley was 1/8 on the power play while the Broncos were 0/3.
Humboldt had 56 penalty minutes in the contest.
Charlie Tritt made 30 saves for the Broncos.
The first regular season matchup between the Broncos and Klippers is on Monday, September 29 in Kindersley.

Southey RCMP investigating fatal rollover near Govan
Southey RCMP are investigating a single-vehicle fatal rollover on Highway 20 north of Govan that happened early Sunday morning.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 am. The driver of the vehicle was declared deceased by EMS at the scene.
She has been identified as a 30-year-old female from the Kawacatoose First Nation. Her family has been notified.
Three Royals named SSBL award winners
Three members of the Marysburg Royals were among the recipients of the Saskatoon Senior Baseball League season award winners.
Cole Bauml was named the top hitter this year. Bauml led several categories including batting average (.506), RBIs (25), and home runs (3). He also led the league in slugging (.774), OBP (.569) and hits (32).
Roughriders create some distance with their 21-13 win in Winnipeg
The Saskatchewan Roughriders snapped their five-game losing streak in the “Banjo Bowl” against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday with a 21-13 win.
With a 10-2 record on the year, the green and white further staked their claim that the road in the Canadian Football League (CFL) playoffs will travel through Regina this fall.

The first group of students of BHP Potash Academy at Carlton Trail College have completed their training and studies.
On Friday, the graduates were honoured with an event held at BHP’s Discovery Lodge located at the Jansen Potash Mine.
Broncos double down on preseason victories against Warman
The Humboldt Broncos swept the weekend preseason home-and-home set with the Warman Wolverines.
On Saturday, the Broncos defeated the Wolverines 6-4. Jacob Strizzi led the way with a hat-trick.
Avery Lowe, Jacob Kulas, and Carson Croteau also scored.
Nick Kotai made 27 saves as he logged in the full 60 minutes in the crease.
Humboldt was 1/5 on the power play.
Warman outshot the Broncos 31-27.
The Broncos got the road win in Warman on Friday night 4-2.
Rylan Hue scored a pair of goals.
