Fly away with Ace Academy at Humboldt & District Museum

A travelling exhibit will be touching down in Humboldt beginning today.  

Ace Academy: Flight Experience, produced by the Canada Aviation and Space Museum, will be at the Humboldt and District Museum from September 5-November 14.  

It’s sponsored by HSA Chartered Professional Accountants with support from the Friends of the Museum and Gallery. 

Marysburg Royals claim Saskatoon Senior Mens Baseball title

The Marysburg Royals capped off a successful season in the Saskatoon Senior Men's Baseball league with a championship victory last night.

Marysburg defeated the Saskatoon Hoppers 4-1 on the strength of a complete game win tossed by Thomas Lessmeister.

This marks the second straight season that the Royals have won the league championship.

Wakaw Warriors looking to maintain elite status in six-man football

After a summer break, the Wakaw Warriors football team is ready to get back on the gridiron.  

The team began practicing last week as they begin preparations for the 2024 campaign. 

Head Coach Carter Haryett says there’s renewed optimism with the team with a change to the team’s coaching staff.  

Broncos set to break the ice with training camp getting underway

It's another sign summer is ending as the Elgar Petersen Arena (EPA) will be busy this weekend with the Humboldt Broncos training camp. 

The Broncos will hit the ice on Friday, with a pair of practices, first at 2:00 pm, then at 3:15 pm, with the goalies workout at 4:30 pm. Day one will finish with a scrimmage at 8:30 pm.  

On Saturday, the first practice is at 11:00 am, then at 12:30 pm, and a scrimmage at 6:00 pm. 

Winston High Wildcats football team are preparing to chase after a provincial title

 

Redemption is on the minds of the Winston High School Wildcats football team in Watrous as they begin the 2024 season.  

The Wildcats provincial championship hopes were dashed in the 2A 6-Man Provincial Final last year against Clavet.  

Last week, the team began practicing ahead of their first game in Assiniboia on Friday, September 5. 

Prairie Roots Early Learning Centre set to open its doors in Humboldt

With childcare a big need in the community, another option will soon be added in Humboldt. 

On Wednesday, the Prairie Roots Early Learning Centre held their grand opening which included a ribbon cutting ceremony, a fundraising BBQ, and a chance for some children to get a firsthand look at some of the toys and activities that will be offered.
