Co-op Gas Bar presents St. Augustine Reading Program the proceeds of Fuel Good Day
This year's Fuel Good Day with Co-op was a big success.
On September 16, Co-op gas bars across western Canada donated a minimum of five cents per litre of fuel to a local registered charity or non-profit organization. In Humboldt, the recipient was the St. Augustine Reading Program.
On Thursday, Co-op made a cheque presentation of $4349.89 to the St. Augustine Reading Program.
High school football Week 5 preview
Week 5 of the high school football season gets underway on Thursday.
The Watrous Wildcats will head to Clavet for another shot at the Cougars. Earlier this season in a rematch from last year’s provincial final, Clavet emerged from Watrous with a 64-28 victory.
Humboldt Quilt Show to display the latest from the Prairie Patchworkers Quilt Guild
Members of the Prairie Patchworkers Quilt Guild are ready to show the fruits of their labour this weekend.
The Humboldt Quilt Show, “From Bolts to Bindings” will happen at the Bella Vista Inn on Friday (10 am-8 pm) and Saturday (10 am –4pm).
Loretta McDonald from the Prairie Patchworkers Guild says the show which happens every two years, gives members a chance to showcase an assortment of items.
Free movie night in Wakaw on Thursday
If you are in Wakaw on Thursday night, you can grab a blanket and a lawn chair along with some snacks and head down to the school grounds for a free movie night beginning at 6:00.
The Humboldt Regional Newcomer Centre will provide the movie on a big outdoor screen.
Future of nine-man football on display at junior football jamboree
Grade 9 and 10 football players had their chance to shine on Saturday at Glenn Hall Park during Humboldt's junior football jamboree.
Along with the HCI Mohawks, teams from Prince Albert, Melfort, Tisdale and Lumsden were in town for some gridiron action.

The St. Mary's Villa Foundation and Cottage Boutique are partnering up for the annual charity fashion on Sunday at the Legion Hall at 2:00. Doors open at 1:00.
This will mark the seventh time the St. Mary's Villa Foundation and Cottage Boutique have worked together with the fashion show.
SJHL and MJHL partnering up for Western All-Star Challenge in Warman
The Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) has announced more details for the Western All-Star Challenge.
The SJHL along with the Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL) are working together on this venture. It will be held in Warman (Nov.4-6) and will be used as a selection camp for Team Canada West’s entry in the World Junior A Challenge in Camrose, Alberta.
Week 4 high school football recap
The Humboldt Collegiate Institute (HCI) Mohawks (2-2) got back to .500 on the season after a 38-3 win in Kindersley on Friday. With the victory, the Mohawks moved back into a second-place tie with John Paul II (North Battleford) in the conference. This week, the Mohawks will have a chance to redeem a home field loss to the Delisle Rebels, as HCI will travel to Delisle on Friday.
Mayor Michael Behiel announces he will not seek reelection
There will be a change in the mayor’s seat in Humboldt.
Michael Behiel has announced that he will not be seeking another term as mayor.

Broncos host Terriers in a Friday night battle
It’s a quiet weekend for the Humboldt Broncos with one game on the schedule, as they host the Yorkton Terriers at the Elgar Petersen Arena on Friday night.
The Broncos walked away from the opening weekend of the regular season after a pair of victories against the Notre Dame Hounds.
Boris Kofman led Humboldt with three-point efforts in both contests and leads the Broncos in scoring after the opening weekend (1G-5A).
