City of Humboldt releases statement of wildlife within the city limits

 

With the snow piling up and the temperatures continuing to drop, an increasing amount of wildlife has settled within the city limits of Humboldt this winter. 

The city has been in contact with local conservation officers about the wildlife’s presence in Humboldt and has alerted the public about some guidelines when confronting wildlife. 

Futuristic Industries choir prepares for Telemiracle performance with fundraising concert

The Futuristic Industries choir will hold their final tune-up before they perform on the grand stage at Telemiracle 49. 

Their third annual fundraising concert is set for Friday, February 28 at the Community Gathering Place at 7:00. 

Also performing will be Ray Whitton, Walter Bushman, Lady Friday, Jimmy Matieschen, Jessica Ehr and Jocelyn Ehr.  

No love lost between Broncos and North Stars as they finish off their season series

It may be Valentine’s Day, but there will be no love in the air in Battlefords tonight as the Humboldt Broncos finish off their season series against the North Stars this weekend with one final home-and-home set.  

Tonight will mark the seventh matchup between the two clubs. After splitting the first four matchups, the Broncos were able to sweep the two-game series on January 31 and February 1. Humboldt leads the series 4-2-0-1. 

Provincial and league playoffs highlight Senior Hockey weekend schedule

Local rinks will be busy this weekend with several senior hockey teams in action in both provincial and league playoffs.  

With the first round of the Long Lake Hockey playoffs in the books, the league playoffs will hit the pause button with provincial playoff action. 

On Friday, In the Provincial ‘A’ category, the Drake Canucks will host the Loreburn 19ers in game two of their best of three series. Loreburn won game one 5-2, if Drake wins tonight, game three would be on Saturday night in Drake.  

Winners will have choices with the Humboldt Broncos lottery

The Humboldt Broncos biggest fundraiser returns with a bit of a new twist. 

Now known as the Winner’s Choice Lottery, all the winners from lottery will have options to select from with their winning ticket. 

Broncos Marketing and Play-by-Play announcer Rory McGouran says that the winners can choose between some cold hard cash or some cool prizes. 

Senior Hockey Playoff update: First round completed in Long Lake with deciding games in Twin Rivers and Wheatland leagues

The first round is in the books for the Long Lake Hockey League and upsets were the story. 

The Drake Canucks defeated the Wadena Wildcats in a hard fought three-game series that featured a pair of one-goal games, including game two that went into overtime.  

Broncos G Brady Holtvogt named SJHL Rookie of the Week

Humboldt’s Brady Holtvogt made his lone start last week count as he was named the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League’s (SJHL) IKS Media Rookie of the Week. 

Holtvogt received the start last Wednesday (Feb.5) against the Estevan Bruins. In the Broncos 4-1 victory, the local product had a near perfect night, making 28 saves. He was 5:48 away from his second shutout of the season.
