Stage is set for Saturday at Streetfest
Humboldt’s downtown area will come alive on Saturday as Streetfest fills the day with non-stop entertainment on stage.
Before the grand finale with the Street Dance in the evening, the Cultural Stage sponsored by the Prairie Gateway Settlement Services will be filled with both local and international performances on stage.
A Royal presence at the National Championships in Regina
Even though the Marysburg Royals season came to an end earlier this week, players from the squad will be playing in Regina this weekend in the Men's National Baseball Championships.
Six members of the Royals have joined Team Saskatchewan: Curtis Strueby, Dylan Smith, Brent Puetz, Nick Anderson, Joel Bauml, and Tom Hooker.

Humboldt/Lanigan RCMP investigating damaged spray plane
Humboldt/Lanigan RCMP are seeking information about an incident involving a damaged spray plane.
On August 10, the spray plane was used near Esk and Lanigan.
When it landed, the pilot noted damage to the right wing of the plane. It appears that the damage looks like it was pierced or struck by something small, potentially a bullet, but that has not been confirmed.
Watrous RCMP searching for a stolen trailer
Watrous RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying individual(s) responsible for a theft of trailer which occurred some time between
July 1 and August 10, 2025 by a farm near Young, SK in the RM of Morris.
The trailer is described as: a white 14’ enclosed “Carry-On” utility trailer, with Saskatchewan plate 071 JZA and has red “Carry-On” markings on the back and contained a wheel chock and electric winch.

Royals come up just short as Saskatoon Outlaws win 2025 SSBL Championship
The Marysburg Royals season came to an end last night as they lost out in the Saskatoon Senior Baseball League championship final to the Saskatoon Outlaws.
To reach the finals, the Royals had to play two games on Tuesday.
Marysburg defeated the Saskatoon River Pirates. 8-5 to begin the night.
It was a quick start for the Royals as they scored 8 runs in the first three innings.
Stolen vehicle in Saskatoon leads to the arrest of three
Three individuals are facing charges following the recovery of a stolen vehicle.
On August 10, Outlook RCMP received a report of a stolen truck travelling on Highway #219 in the RM of Rudy. The vehicle was recently stolen in Saskatoon
Police discovered the suspect vehicle stuck in a field in a rural area south of Whitecap. Officers believed the suspects fled on foot.
With the assistance of Cormon Park Police and Saskatoon Police, a drone and police dog were deployed, with assisting officers searching the area
Wildfire situation improving in Saskatchewan
As of 9:30 am on Tuesday morning there are 60 active wildfires in the province according to the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency (SPSA). Of those active wildfires, eight are listed as contained, six are not contained, 33 are ongoing assessment and 13 are listed protecting values.
So far this year, there have been 467 wildfires, well above the 5-year average of 382.
Rosebud Jr Royals finish 5th at Canadian Championships
The Rosebud Jr Royals participated in the Canadian Fast Pitch Championships last week in Winkler and Morden, Manitoba and finished in 5th place.
In their first game, on Wednesday they were defeated by the Tavistock Athletics of Ontario 3-1.
The Royals bounced back in their second game with a 16-9 victory against Elma Avengers.
Provinces begins testing mandatory testing for CWD and Bovine Tuberculosis in select zones
If you’re hunting deer or elk this season, take note: mandatory disease testing is now in effect in select areas of Saskatchewan for the 2025-26 hunting season.
Environment Minister Travis Keisig emphasized the importance of monitoring wildlife health. “Protecting our wildlife helps keep hunting and agriculture strong. We appreciate hunters who submit samples for testing and thank them for their support.”
Second half of 2025 Canada Summer Games begins on Tuesday
Following a day off on Monday, the second half of the 2025 Canada Summer Games in St. John’s, Newfoundland will get started on Tuesday.
It will be a busy start for the Women’s Baseball team with two games on Tuesday.
They open the tournament with a matchup against Manitoba.
That will be followed by a quick turnaround against Prince Edward Island in the afternoon.
