Humboldt Broncos announce commitment of D Finn McGhie for 2025-26 season
The Humboldt Broncos have received another commitment for the upcoming 2025-26 season.
2007-born defenceman Finn McGhie has declared his commitment to the team.
The Sherwood Park AB product is currently in his third season with the Sherwood Park Kings U18 AAA program and has 13 points (4G-9A) in 38 games.

AA Minor Hockey regular seasons wrap up this weekend
It’s the final weekend for AA minor hockey teams in Saskatchewan, with Provincial/League playoffs set to begin next week.
The U18 AA Humboldt Broncos finish off their regular season with a pair of home games, on Friday night they host the West Central Wheat Kings at 7:15. The regular season finale is on Saturday at 5:00 with a rematch between the two teams. Humboldt is currently in 7th spot, but a pair of wins could move them up a couple of spots in the standings.
Broncos Maddox Amaral commits to Nipissing University (OUA) for 2025-26 season
Humboldt Broncos forward Maddox Amaral has found his next hockey home.
The Nipissing University Lakers announced the commitment of the Komoka, ON product.
This season, Amaral has 26 points (10G-16A) with the Broncos. Over his three seasons in Humboldt, the 20-year-old has collected 95 points (39G-56A) in 146 games in green and gold.
Broncos late rally falls short against Weyburn
The Humboldt Broncos were unable to move closer to a playoff spot on Wednesday as the Weyburn Red Wings picked up a 4-2 victory in Humboldt.
With the loss, the Broncos remain in 7th place in the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL) standings, trailing Battlefords by one point.
Jerome Maharaj opened the scoring for Weyburn, capitalizing on a penalty shot.
Minor hockey provincial playoffs update
Provincial hockey playoffs are minor hockey teams around the region.
In U18 ‘B’ Provincials, the Lanigan Pirates are trailing in their south semi-final series against the Carlyle Cougars after a home-ice last Friday. Game two is on Sunday afternoon in Carlyle.
In U18 ‘C’ Provincials, Watrous Hawks meet the Naicam Vikings in the north semi-final, game one goes Friday in Watrous and then the two teams meet in Naicam on Saturday.
