Former Swift Current resident receives provincial recognition

CBC Saskatchewan’s Future 40 is back once again to showcase and recognize outstanding individuals in Saskatchewan under the age of 40. 

One of the ten individuals chosen for this year's Future 40, is former Swift Current resident, Landon Walliser, co-founder and creative administrator for On Cue Performance Hub. 

Assistance for prolific violent offenders to be suspended

In response to recent tragic events, the Saskatchewan Government has officially introduced legislation to authorize a Warrant Intelligence Team. 

The team will collaborate with other government agencies in order to suspend benefits and gather information on prolific violent offenders. 

Minister of Corrections, Policing and Public Safety, Christine Tell, stated in a press release earlier this month that the team will work to ensure that criminal lifestyles are not being funded by taxpayer dollars. 

Holiday festivities continue in Shaunavon

Residents in Shaunavon will have the opportunity to join together for a one-of-a-kind tour of the twinkling lights displayed throughout the town. 

The Me Time Merry Christmas event, put on by the Me Time Shaunavon partners, will kick off tomorrow night at 6:00 p.m., explained Lauren Johnson, economic development officer for the town of Shaunavon.

One charged after reports of armed robbery in Eastend

On Saturday afternoon, Shaunavon RCMP were called to a report of an armed robbery involving a local business located in the Town of Eastend. 

It was reported by an employee that an unknown male filled his vehicle with fuel, before attempting to leave without paying. 

The employee exited the business when the male proceeded to point a long rifle at him, before fleeing the scene.

The spotlight is on Eastend in new music from Saskatchewan artist

A brand-new song and accompanying music video by Saskatchewan artist, Alexis Normand, shines a spotlight on the beauty and magic of the province. 

The song, titled ‘Hidden Valley,’ is an homage to Eastend, as well as the nearby ‘Hidden Valley of Secrets,’ the stretch of road between Eastend and Ravenscrag.
