God's Family Church hosts weekend of love, outreach, and evangelism

A new Winnipeg church is hosting two community events this weekend: one to get to know people and the other to equip believers to share the gospel with the city.

"We have a heart for serving Winnipeg," says Pastor Victor Taiwo of God's Family Church. "We believe God sent us here for a reason. Each day, our heart is burdened when we see the brokenness in our city, and we want to make a difference. We want to work with others, collaborate with others. OJET Worldwide is just one of the organizations we're partnering with to reach the community."

Canada to 'align' with U.S. airport screening rules as TSA drops shoes-off policy

Ottawa says it will work to align its flight security regulations with those in the U.S. after Washington dropped a rule that required passengers to remove their shoes during security screenings.

U.S. Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced Tuesday that passengers at American airports no longer need to remove their shoes because officials have found other ways to keep travellers safe.

Canada does not require passengers flying domestically or to non-U.S. destinations to take off their shoes for screening, unless a security officer decides it's necessary.

A Present Help

Psalm 46:7

We deny it. We fake it. We mask it. We try to ignore it. But the truth stubbornly persists—we are weak creatures!

Being sinful, we fail. Being prone to sickness, we hurt. Being mortal, we ultimately die. Pressure wears on us. Anxiety gives us ulcers. People intimidate us. Criticismoffends us. Disease scares us. Death haunts us....

How can we continue to grow in this bag of bones, covered with weaknesses too numerous to mention?

We need a big dose of Psalm 46: "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

The golf tournament was held on Tuesday, July 8, to raise money to support the work that Adult & Teen Challenge does to provide treatment and services for addiction and recovery.

"We are fundraising money because we are a non-profit organization; we rely on donations," said Josh, a student of the program from the Denare campus.
