Registration for Manitoba Public Insurance's (MPI) popular high school education program, Driver Z, will soon be open.
MPI announced on Wednesday that it will open on July 23 at 8 a.m.
The program is offered in several communities around Manitoba. A mix of Lessons, virtual, and in-person classes is used. Students gain valuable experience through the in-car learning sessions, which provide knowledge and skills to drive safely and prevent collisions.
25-foot-tall windmill stolen near Carman, RCMP looking for tips
Carman RCMP are asking for the public's assistance after a windmill was stolen.
The windmill was stolen from a property in the RM of Grey. Officers believe it was taken between July 4 and 6.
The windmill is 25 feet high, with a six-foot blade and is silver in colour. Due to the size, officers believe that someone nearby may have seen something.
Lithium-ion battery suspected in Transcona blaze: WFPS issues safety tips
A Transcona fire on Tuesday night is believed to have been caused by a lithium-ion battery or charger failure.
Shortly after 10 p.m. on July 16, the WFPS responded to reports of a fire in a single-family bungalow in the 300 block of Kildare Avenue West.
When fire crews arrived on the scene, they found smoke coming from the house and launched an interior fire attack. The blaze was declared under control at 10:27 p.m.
All occupants safely self-evacuated prior to the crew's arrival. No injuries were reported.

AnnMarie Penner has been listening to CHVN since day one when it first hit the airwaves in September 2000.
"We were so excited when we heard we were getting a Christian radio station," says Penner. "We've been listening right from the beginning, and we've got it hooked up everywhere: outside, the garage, and in the barn."
Penner and her husband, George, live on 10 acres of farmland between Île-des-Chênes and Niverville.

RCMP arrest alleged hijacker at Vancouver airport after airspace shut down
RCMP say they've arrested the pilot of a small aircraft that was allegedly hijacked from Victoria and flown to Vancouver International Airport, where other flights had to be temporarily halted.
RCMP in Richmond, B.C., say in a statement that a report came in just after 1 p.m. Tuesday about a Cessna that "had been hijacked" and was on its way to Vancouver.
Police say the "sole occupant" of the plane was arrested after it touched down.
