The Canadian Cattle Association (CCA) will be one of the organizations helping to host the Canadian Beef Industry Conference, this year taking place in Saskatoon.

Second ordered mosquito fogging date set for Winkler, portion of R.M. of Stanley
A second mosquito fogging date has been scheduled for the City of Winkler, including 3km radius extending into the R.M. of Stanley. The province issued a ministerial order to begin spraying for adult mosquitos on July 31st, and the first application was made August 1st.
Province issues ministerial mosquito spraying order for Altona, parts of Rhineland
The Manitoba Government has issued the area's second ministerial order to begin spraying for adult mosquitos.
The first, issued on July 31st, was for the City of Winkler and a 3km extended zone in the R.M. of Stanley.
The latest order, issued Thursday, August 8th, covers the Town of Altona and an approximately 3 km extended zone in the Municipality of Rhineland.
Manitoba teachers to see 'substantial wage increase' in historic deal
Manitoba teachers are getting a pay raise.
Teachers have ratified the first-ever provincial collective agreement. In a news release, The Manitoba Teacher's Society (MTS) states that nearly 70 per cent of eligible voters cast their ballots, with 95 per cent voting 'yes' to the deal. The deal covers public school teachers in the 37 anglophone school divisions.
RCMP looking for the scoop on stolen ice cream cone
"I scream, you scheme, we all want to find the ice cream!"
Morden RCMP are appealing to the public for help in recovering a 5-foot-tall ice cream cone sculpture.
Police say the cone was stolen from a business in Carman sometime between 8 p.m. June 16th and 8 a.m. June 17th.
If you recognize these suspects or have information about the stolen item, please call Morden RCMP at 204-822-4476.
Regional TESA nominees announced by CCA
The Canadian Cattle Association has laid out its nominees for The Environmental Stewardship Award (TESA) with farming operations across Canada being nominated.
Carol Reynolds, the CCA's communications manager, talked about how they've been supporting those farmers with the awards.

Katharina Friesen nee Banman, 81, of Winkler passed away Tuesday, August 6th at Foyer Notre Dame. She is survived by 5 daughters, 1 son, and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Gerhard George Friesen.
The funeral service for Katharina Friesen nee Banman will be held Saturday, August 10th at 2pm at Winkler Sommerfeld Mennonite Church.

Reininger spectacular in shutout of Saltdogs
Zac Reininger pitched a shutout as the Winnipeg Goldeyes (43-34) defeated the Lincoln Saltdogs 1-0 at Haymarket Park Wednesday evening. Combined with Sioux Falls’ loss to Lake Country, the win pulled the Goldeyes to within a half-game of the West Division lead.

Sea Bears' Hildebrandt named CEBL Developmental Player of the Year for second straight season
The Canadian Elite Basketball League (CEBL) announced Wednesday that Simon Hildebrandt has been named the league’s Developmental Player of the Year for a second consecutive season. In his second CEBL campaign this year, the 6-9 University of Manitoba product averaged 5.3 points and 3.2 rebounds per game as one of only two collegiate players to appear in all 20 of his team’s regular-season contests.
