Matching fundraising campaign launched for Discovery Trails Track and Field project

Construction is well underway on the new Discovery Trails School in Morden, and alongside the much needed Kindergarten to Grade 8 school, Western School Division (WSD) has also embarked on adding a running track to the grounds, a project Vice Chair Darcy Wolfe hopes the community will partner on. Rosenort's Small Town Kids Daycare wants you to join their team

As the board and staff work toward a gradual opening of the new facility, Small Town Kids Daycare in Rosenort is hiring for a variety of roles.

"Well, it's a pretty big building," explained daycare director Terry Ginter, noting the facility is located in the new Prairie Hearth development. "There are six play rooms. We have two infant rooms, three preschool rooms and a room they call a transition room for older infants and younger toddlers. We have a full kitchen, laundry room, staff room. It's pretty nice."

Legends Car Club charity airport drag races return August 19th and 20th

For the 19th year the Legends Car Club charity airport drag races will be tearing up the tarmac at Altona airport. Happening August 19th and 20th, it's two full days of racing, and most importantly, raising funds for organizations throughout the region. Fifty per cent of the revenues generated go to three designated groups; Genesis House in Winkler, South Central Cancer Resource based in Morden and STARS Air Ambulance.

Spokesperson and organizer Alex Loewen says of the sixty cars competing each day, most will be locals from Manitoba.
